Caregiver Stress

1.0 Continuing Education Credit Hour

This module is a review of how caregiver stress specifically manifests in the workplace. Stress is defined and described in terms of its physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual signs and symptoms. Stress management strategies, as well as the opportunity to complete a stress action plan, are provided.

Objectives

  1. Describe concepts of stress related to taking care of residents and their families at the end-of-life.
  2. Identify personal signs and symptoms of burnout.
  3. List at least five strategies to prevent caregiver burnout.
  4. Complete a Personal Stress Action Plan.
  5. Complete the Caregiver Stress module case study.

Online Module

When completing the on-line module you will be presented with learning objectives, brief cases, questions for reflection (not scored), and interactive lessons with hyperlinks to engage you along the way. Once you complete the lessons, you will be presented with the Post Test (which requires a score of 100%) and then the Module Evaluation, followed by the opportunity to print your Continuing Education Certificate. Modules remain available for your future reference once you have completed them.
