Grief & Loss

1.0 Continuing Education Credit Hour

This module is an exploration of the process of grief as the normal human reaction to all loss and provides a blueprint for understanding how to respond to family, residents, and staff who are grieving both individually and programmatically.

Objectives

  1. Identify some of the losses experienced by persons who are aging, ill, and/or dying; those of their families and your own.
  2. Describe one model of grief.
  3. Give examples of how to respond to persons who demonstrate grief responses.
  4. Resolve the Grief & Loss case study.

Online Module

When completing the on-line module you will be presented with learning objectives, brief cases, questions for reflection (not scored), and interactive lessons with hyperlinks to engage you along the way. Once you complete the lessons, you will be presented with the Post Test (which requires a score of 100%) and then the Module Evaluation, followed by the opportunity to print your Continuing Education Certificate. Modules remain available for your future reference once you have completed them.
