Continuing Education Approvals

The following applications for continuing education approvals have been approved or submitted for the SUNSET modules. When approvals are received, they will be noted here as well as on the Documentation of Successful Completion (certificates) for each module. Participants may print the Documentation of Successful Completion for each module completed.

1. The following SUNSET modules are approved for continuing education credit each from The State of Ohio Board of Executives of Long Term Services & Supports (BELTSS), in accordance with BELTSS regulations regarding maximum annual online continuing education credit. The BELTSS approval number is 006-SS-17. BELTSS accepts 10 hours of online, self-study, and webinar CEUs annually.

2. The following SUNSET modules are approved for one (1) hour of continuing education credit each from The Counselor, Social Work & Marriage and Family Therapist Board of Ohio. The approval number is MCST101634 The CSWMFT approval is through 10/31/2017.

3. Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Dialysis Technicians may complete SUNSET modules to meet their continuing education requirements in accordance with Ohio Administrative Code 4723-14-05 (6).

4. The Association for Death Education and Counseling has deemed this program as counting toward the continuing education requirements for the ADEC Certification in Thanatology (CT) and the Fellow in Thanatology (FT) programs.  SUNSET credit is for continuing education only, and does not prepare people to take the CT exam.

5. The Society of Certified Senior Advisors (SCSA), has approved SUNSET Modules for required continuing education for CSA's.   

6. Occupational Therapists may complete SUNSET modules and present module certificates to their accrediting body for continuing education approval under the guidelines of Ohio Administrative Code 4755-9, Section 4755-9-01(B)(7) as it relates to the clinical practice, management or education of occupational therapy.

All SUNSET participants, who do not qualify for continuing education credit from one of the professional organizations outlined above, receive continuing education credit for each SUNSET module from the Office of Geriatrics and Gerontology, The Ohio State University Medical Center. Notation is indicated on the certificate of completion which is provided upon successful completion of each module. This certificate of completion may be presented to your professional organization for consideration toward required licensure continuing education credit.
